Strengthened by His Promises
“43 Thus the LORD gave to Israel all the land that he swore to give to their fathers. And they took possession of it, and they settled there. 44 And the LORD gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers. Not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the LORD had given all their enemies into their hands. 45 Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass” Joshua 21:43-45 ESV.
Recently I have been going through a difficult time in my personal spiritual life. I have been experiencing a weight that that I have not fully understood. This week I was looking through articles that I previously posted on my blog site and was helped by the truths that were presented in an article that I wrote. I was impacted again with the powerful reality that our marvelous God is a promise making and promise keeping God. These are some of the basic truths that I have learned about our faithful God. First, He is a God who makes promises. His promises always are in tune with and express his eternal purposes. God’s promises call for our trust and obedience. As an expression of His divine integrity, God keeps His promises. Perhaps that which is most important is that the promises of God are perfectly fulfilled in the Lord Jesus.
Following are some of the struggles and needs in my own life and the promises that I am claiming from God’s Word.
Fear: “10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 ESV
Anxiety/Worry: “4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness[a] be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7 ESV
“6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV
The need for God’s peace: “3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you. 4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26:3-4 ESV
Need for God’s direction: “3 Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” Jeremiah 33:3 ESV
God’s answers to my prayers: “12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:12-13 ESV
“24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:24 ESV
These are but a few of His precious and very great promises. My prayer is that we will learn to live in the richness of His promises and as we do may we come to know even more intimately our Promise Keeping God. I also pray that as God has strengthened me with these promises, He will give you fresh strength as you claim his promises.

Fortalecidos Por Medio de Sus Promesas

Últimamente he estado pasando por un tiempo difícil en mi propia vida espiritual. He estado experimentando un peso que no he logrado totalmente entender. Esta semana estaba revisando algunos de los artículos que previamente publiqué en mi sitio de blog y fui ayudado por las verdades presentadas en uno de los artículos escritos. Nuevamente me impactó la realidad poderosa que nuestro Dios maravilloso es un Dios que hace y cumple promesas. He aquí, hay algunas de las verdades básicas que he aprendido acerca de nuestro “Dios Cumplidor de Promesas”. Primero, Él es un Dios que hace promesas. Sus promesas siempre están de acuerdo con Sus propósitos eternos. Las promesas de Dios requieren nuestra confianza y obediencia. Como una expresión de Su integridad divina, Dios siempre cumple Sus promesas. Tal vez, lo más importante es que las promesas de Dios tienen su cumplimiento perfecto en el Señor Jesús.
A continuación, comparto algunas de las luchas y necesidades en mi propia vida y las promesas que estoy reclamando de la Palabra de Dios.
Temor: “10 No temas, porque Yo estoy contigo; no desmayes, porque Yo soy tu Dios que te esfuerzo; siempre te ayudaré, siempre te sustentaré con la diestra de Mi justicia.” Isaías 41:10 RV 60
La ansiedad/preocupación:“4 Regocijaos en el Señor siempre. Otra vez digo: !!Regocijaos! 5 Vuestra gentileza sea conocida de todos los hombres. El Señor está cerca. 6 Por nada estéis afanosos, sino sean conocidas vuestras peticiones delante de Dios en toda oración y ruego, con acción de gracias. 7 Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús.” Filipenses 4:4-7 RV 60
“6 Humillaos, pues, bajo la poderosa mano de Dios, para que Él os exalte cuando fuere tiempo; 7 echando toda vuestra ansiedad sobre Él, porque Él tiene cuidado de vosotros.” 1 Pedro 5:6-7 RV 60
La necesidad de la paz de Dios: “3 Tú guardarás en completa paz a aquel cuyo pensamiento en Ti persevera; porque en Ti ha confiado. 4 Confiad en Jehová perpetuamente, porque en Jehová el Señor está la fortaleza de los siglos.” Isaías 26:3-4 RV 60
La necesidad de dirección divina: “3 Clama a Mí, y yo te responderé, y te enseñaré cosas grandes y ocultas que tú no conoces.” Jeremías 33:3 RV 60
Las contestaciones de Dios a mis oracones: “12 De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que en Mí cree, las obras que Yo hago, él las hará también; y aún mayores hará, porque Yo voy al Padre. 13 Y todo lo que pidiereis al Padre en Mi nombre, lo haré, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo.” Juan 14:12-13 RV 60
“24 Hasta ahora nada habéis pedido en Mi nombre; pedid, y recibiréis, para que vuestro gozo sea cumplido.” Juan 16:24 RV 60
Estas son solo algunas pocas de Sus preciosas y grandísimas promesas. Mi oración es que aprendamos a vivir en la riqueza de Sus promesas y mientras lo hacemos lleguemos a conocer en forma más íntima al Dios el Cumplidor de Promesas. Así igual, le pido al Señor que cómo Él me ha fortalecido con estas promesas, Él también le conceda a usted fuerzas nuevas mientras usted reclame las promesas divinas.
